History and Structure

IBEW #317 Federal Credit Union is a voluntary, nonprofit, cooperative association of individuals sharing a common employment bond as defined by our field of membership. Each member is an owner of the Credit Union and is entitled to a single vote regarding the business of the Credit Union.

IBEW #317 Federal Credit Union was granted Charter #14030 from the National Credit Union Association (NCUA) on October 25, 1960. This was our beginning.

“From a Suitcase”

In the early years, the Treasurer of the credit union would visit the job sites toting a suitcase for a file drawer. From the case he recruited new members and took care of any and all transactions. We have since grown “out of the case” with assets totaling $ 23,583,691. as of October 31, 2017 and an office staff of three full-time employees and one part-time employee.
